The Blasters begin their 2025/26 AIFF Super Cup campaign in Goa on Thursday against Rajasthan United FC, aiming to build on a promising pre-season that began earlier this month. With preparations in full swing since October 7, the Blasters enter the competition with renewed focus and a refreshed squad featuring a blend of experience, youth, and quality.
The club recently announced its official squad for the tournament, led by captains Adrian Luna, Noah Sadaoui, Danish Farooq, and Bikash Yumnam. This leadership group embodies the balance of flair, resilience, and passion that defines the Blasters.
Head Coach David Catala’s side welcomes several new faces this season, including foreign arrivals Koldo Obieta, Tiago Alves, and Juan Rodriguez, alongside domestic additions Amey Ranawade, Arsh Anwer Shaikh, and Sumit Sharma. Together, they add depth, competition, and tactical flexibility across all areas of the pitch.
Blasters’ opponents, Rajasthan United FC, arrive as a well-drilled unit with a mix of pace and physicality. Led by Coach Vikrant Sharma, they typically line up in a 4-4-2 or a 5-4-1 formation, focusing on compactness, defensive discipline, and keeping the ball. The likes of Robinson Blandon up front and Pedro Astray in midfield provide directness in attack, while Abdul-Halik Hudu anchors the middle of the park.
The encounter promises to be a strong opening test for the Blasters — one that will demand control, sharpness, and cohesion from the first whistle.
