Match Report: Kerala Blasters FC 3-0 Sporting Club Delhi

The Blasters continued their fine form in the AIFF Super Cup with a commanding 3–0 victory over Sporting Club Delhi at the GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim. A scintillating first-half display, highlighted by a brace from Koldo Obieta and a moment of sheer brilliance from Korou Singh, ensured David CataIà’s side made it two wins from two in Group D.

The Blasters named an unchanged core with Nora in goal, Sandeep, Juan, Bikash, and Saheef forming the defensive unit. Dusan anchored midfield alongside captain Adrian Luna, with Korou, Noah, and Koldo supporting Nihal up front.

David’s side set the tone early and nearly took the lead inside five minutes. A Luna corner from the right found Juan Rodriguez unmarked at the far post, but his powerful header struck the crossbar and rebounded into play — a warning sign for the visitors.

The breakthrough arrived in the 18th minute. A clever move saw Korou Singh deliver a teasing ball into the box, which Nihal Sudeesh controlled expertly before finding Koldo Obieta, who calmly slotted home to make it 1–0.

Just five minutes later, the Spaniard was at it again. Exploiting Delhi’s defensive lapse, Koldo broke free inside the box and finished with authority to register his second of the evening and put the Blasters firmly in control.

The highlight of the afternoon came in the 34th minute, when Korou Singh produced a moment to remember. Meeting an overhead assist from Luna, the winger executed a spectacular bicycle kick from inside the area to make it 3–0.

The second half saw Kerala Blasters maintain control and dictate the tempo. Noah Sadaoui came close to extending the lead with a powerful strike that narrowly missed the target, while the Blasters continued to dominate possession.

Sporting Club Delhi had a rare opportunity late in the game when Augustine capitalised on a defensive miscue, but Nora, ever composed, made a confident save to preserve his clean sheet. In added time, Tiago almost added a fourth for the Blasters, but his curling free-kick struck the upright — the second time the woodwork denied the hosts on the afternoon.

With six points from two matches, David CataIà’s men sit firmly in the driving seat as they look ahead to their final group fixture.
