Loan Watch : Naorem Mahesh Singh
Naorem Mahesh Singh paved the way for SC East Bengal’s first victory this season, against FC Goa, with a brace at Bambolim this Wednesday. Out of the 75 minutes he played, he had two goals to his name one in the 9th minute and one in the 42nd minute, just before halftime, securing the Hero Of The Match award. He played a total of 10 games in his ISL debut season so far and added two goals to his name in the 604 minutes he played.
The twenty-two-year-old attacker from Manipur came up from the ranks at Birchandra Memorial Sporting Club and later moved to Shillong Lajong, with whom he played the Shillong Premier League as well as the I-league. Following his incredible performances, he joined the KBFC reserve side back in January 2020 in a loan deal and has been part of the team ever since. Naorem was part of the team that helped us secure the Kerala Premier League title. For a brief period, he plied his trade for Sudeva FC in a loan deal and represented the club in the I-league last season. Returning to Kerala, he was a part of the men in yellow’s preseason squad this season, before being sent to SC East Bengal for more game time along with Shubha Ghosh. Abdul Hakku, Sreekuttan V.S and Seityasen Singh are also loaned out.
