Kerala, a paradoxical state in India where football is loved more than cricket, is one of the traditional powerhouses of the sport in the country. The state has produced some on the finest footballers in India including Thiruvalla Pappan, Olympian Rahman, Kottayam Saleh, Xavier Pius, VP Sathyan, IM Vijayan, Joe Paul Ancheri etc. With the inception of Kerala Blasters FC as a team representative of Kerala’s footballing passion, in the Indian Super League (ISL), the fans of this small South western state have a new found hope. Founded on the three strong pillars: Collectivism, Inclusivity and Sportsmanship, KBFC aims to being the biggest Football Club in India that generates young and talented players who not just represents the club in the National level but also the country in an international playing field, thereby reinforcing the legacy of Kerala towards the sport.

Over a period of 6 years, Kerala Blasters have grown to become the largest fan followed football club in the country and the 5 th largest in Asia with a total fan base of over 5 Million supporters on social media combining Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It is noteworthy that this is higher than some of the IPL clubs, in a country where cricket is the most watched sport. As a club with fans at its core, Kerala Blasters is committed to stay closely connected to its supporters in all initiatives.

With an estimated contribution of 45% to the total ISL viewership and KBFC matches consistently among the top 10 most watched programmes in Kerala, the club is a true beacon of growing football in India. The digital footprint of the club is unparalleled to any other football club in the country, with an engagement rate of 3.68% in April 2020, well ahead of FC Barcelona (0.97%), Liverpool FC (0.88%) and Manchester United (0.57%). Also, with an Instagram fan following of 1.6 million, Kerala Blasters FC, is one of the 58 football clubs globally, having a follower base of more than 1 Million.

Kerala Blasters are also among the top 10 Non-European Clubs with the highest average stadium attendees, with an average attendance of approx. 30000 fans during the 6 years of ISL. Being the award winner of the “Best ISL pitch of the year” in 2018, the club also prides in having one of the best footballing facilities in India.

Our identity, the crest is reflective of the cultural and sporting legacy of Kerala. Basis an extensive and thorough research, the logo of Kerala Blasters FC was inspired by the state animal as the starting point and built around the true spirit of Kerala. The elephant is a symbol of strength, unity, power and pride. It symbolizes heritage, culture and spirit. Rooted in its family and community, the humble elephant showcases the aspiration and spirit of Kerala Blasters. The football held by the elephant with its trunk, is representative of the state’s deep connection with the sport.
